Outer Shells
PBI® Matrix

High Thermal Protection that Repels Water PBI Matrix is a 7.25 oz/yd2 60% Kevlar®/40% PBI fabric blend with a matrix of 600 denier filament Kevlar® cables inserted for superior durability and tear and abrasion resistance. Delivers outstanding thermal protective performance and resistance to high heat and direct flame impingement. Treated with Teflon® F-PPE for the most durable water repellency.
PBI® Max

Outstanding Protection, Durability and Comfort The PBI® Max outer shell offers fire fighters the best combination of break open and thermal protection, the strongest outer shell fabric in the world and the most flexible and comfortable outer shell fabric the fire service has ever seen.
Kevlar Filament Reinforced Fabrics:
Kevlar Filament Reinforced Fabrics:
- PBI Max incorporates 30% 600 denier DuPont™ Kevlar filaments, three times more than other PBI outer shells.
- PBI Max exclusively uses 600 denier ballistic DuPont Kevlar filament for increased tear resistance and up to four times greater trap tear strength than competitive PBI fabrics.
- PBI Max is an isodri outer shell for fast drying time and reduced working weight.
Armor

Layered Abrasion Resistance Armor is a 7.0 oz/yd2 twill weave for increased abrasion resistance. It's a blend of 75% Kevlar® (50% filament/50% spun yarns) and 25% Nomex®. Treated with Teflon® F-PPE for the most durable water repellency.
Advance Ultra™

Strong Heat Resistant Turnout Layers Advance Ultra is a 7.5 oz/yd2 plain weave with pronounced ripstop for added strength. Available only in natural gold color. Its blend of 60% Kevlar® , 20% Nomex ® and 20% PBO® provides structural integrity and resistance to high heat.
Fusion™

Rugged Resistance A balanced blend of producer-dyed Kevlar® and producer-dyed Nomex® in a rugged 7.0 oz/yd2 ripstop for resistance to tears and abrasion. Producer dyed to deliver better color performance and consistency. Treated with Teflon® F-PPE for the most durable water repellency.
Advance®

Added Strength and High Heat Resistance A 7.0 oz/yd2 plain weave with pronounced ripstop for added strength. Colors can change significantly due to heat and light exposure. With 60% Kevlar®/40% Nomex® content, Advance® has good structural integrity and resistance to high heat. Super Shelltite™ finish delivers good water repellency.
Nomex® IIIA

Exceptional Performance Under Extreme Temperatures Available in 7.5 oz/yd2 plain weave construction in a variety of colors, as well as undyed natural (off-white). Colors can change due to heat and light exposure. Excellent resistance to rips, tears and abrasion. Nomex IIIA has lower thermal stability under extreme temperatures than many other outer shells because it contains a lower percentage of Kevlar®.
